How to find out more and to express an interest in purchasing the share:
Contact the seller to ask the questions you will undoubtedly have. If he can't give you the information you seek he will guide you to the most approriate person who can. (Their contact details are on the previous page before this one.)

The share price is provisionally agreed between yourself and the person whose share is for sale.

Go and look over the boat: It's recommended that you go out to see the boat and ideally go out for a sail with one of the syndicate members whilst you're there if they have time to do this.
We have an annual ROTA whch shows when members are going to be on board and this might help you identify a mutually convenient time to visit.

The share price is agreed between you.

Syndiate meeting to aprove the sale:
You will be invited to a syndicate meeting, usually done via Zoom/Facetime/WhatsApp etc. Tom, the chairman, will arrange this. It's quite informal. The meetings purpose is to:
Find out about your sailing experience and qualifications; that you're aware of the systems we have for keeping in touch with each other, and with Vliho Yacht Club.
Check that you're happy with your knowledge of the boat, or at least how you can access the things you need to know.

The best way to familiarise yourself with the boat and obtain experience is to go on our pre season work week:

This is usually around the beginning of May. We use this week to prepare the boat for the coming season and to have an early sail. You will get experience of sailing, mooring, using the engine and anchor etc.

At least two of the syndicate will be there and they'll be able to pass on their hints and tips when handing the boat. You'll have time to find out where everything is stowed, where all the seacocks and switches are, and how the instrumentation works. You can familiarise yourself with the important paperwork we need to keep on board, including where its kept.
